Warehouse Packing Line Conveyors

Packing lines are one of the first conveyor solutions that we would suggest to an operation that picks, packs, and dispatches parcels to customers (B2C). A packing line conveyor system will remove a large amount of non-value adding activity from operators. This is achieved by using a conveyor to take complete packed orders away from the packing benches, and down to either a manual sortation area, or to a conveyor assisted sortation area.
The system will allow operators to focus on the packing activities, without having to walk to stillages or pallet boxes to put the orders into the relevant parcel carrier sort destinations. The site can then either have some dedicated sortation operators, who will manually sort the parcels based on the information printed on the carrier label, or a conveyor assisted sortation system that will sort parcels into dedicated carrier lanes based on the barcode information on the carrier label.
Warehouse Packing Line Conveyor systems can be simple in design, but can also offer other features, depending on the requirement of the warehouse operation. For example, the conveyor system can be multi-tiered, allowing packed orders to be taken away by a conveyor at packing bench height, and a lower tier conveyor could bring plastic totes to the benches containing order items picked from the warehouse storage area.
Other features such as case erecting, case sealing, carrier label print and apply, and order weighing can also be included in the system. These features would further reduce the work that packing operators have to perform at their benches, increasing order volume productivity, and also increasing the resilience of the warehouse operation, as there will be less reliance on human resource to get orders out of the door.
